Prices and chicken house costs include all the equipment needed for a successful poultry unit. The number of chickens per house is based on a placement of 5 birds per bay. Experienced poultry farmers can place 7 birds per bay in a manual 2 tier layer cage.

30m x 7m layer house - R207,622.00 (1760 layer chickens) - 22 cages

2. Insulation in roof

4. Chickens, point of lay, day old chicks, chicken feed, layer mash etc.

YOUR GROUND WILL HAVE TO BE LEVEL, YOU WILL NEED TO SUPPLY ELECTRICITY, WATER AND ACCOMODATION FOR THE INSTALATION TEAM - IF THESE CONDITIONS ARE NOT MET YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY EXTRA

The price of the chicken house includes the following poultry farming equipment:

2. Layer cages - starter and follower chicken cages. (5 - 7 birds per bay)  - manual 2 tier layer cages.

6. Thermometer Min Max - 40 to 40 degrees

The above poultry equipment will be supplied in quantities that suit the size of the chicken house and the number of chickens being placed. Layer cages are made in South Africa and are the new, larger bay layer cages. The cages are 2450 long and 1870 wide and 1650 high. In such a layer cage there are 16 bays - 8 on each side across 2 tiers. The layer cages are made of galvanised steel and include a nipple drinking system, troughs for feeding and 2 small header tanks on the cage for medication.
